The iCPS Lab student team participated in the 15th National University and College AI Automation Equipment Creation Award organized by Gallant Precision Machining Co., Ltd. (GPM), and won second place with the project "AOI+ Automated Recognition System for Missing and Defective Soldering of Capacitors Around a Motherboard CPU." In recognition of this achievement, the team was invited to showcase the work at the 2026 Taiwan Automation Intelligence and Robot Show & 2026 Taipei International Industrial Automation Exhibition.
The showcased project focuses on detecting missing and defective soldering of capacitors around a motherboard CPU. It integrates image acquisition, AI recognition, edge computing, and automated inspection workflows to support manufacturing quality inspection and reduce potential missed or incorrect manual judgments.
Through this invited exhibition, the iCPS Lab team brought its competition achievement into an industrial exhibition setting and exchanged ideas with professionals in automation equipment and smart manufacturing. The experience highlights the team's end-to-end practical capability from problem definition and model training to system integration.
